  • Dr.
    Adam McMahan
    Owner/Veterinarian

    Dr. Adam McMahan, the owner of Bayou South Animal Hospital, grew up on a horse farm in Arkansas and attended the University of Arkansas for his undergraduate studies.  He then moved to Baton Rouge to attend Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in May of 2016.  Dr. Adam’s primary interests in veterinary practice include orthopedic and soft tissue surgery, dermatology, and dentistry.  While not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife Kristin, their two children and their labrador retriever Brie.  His hobbies include hunting, fishing, and anything else outdoors!

  • Dr. Courtney Fontenot
    Veterinarian

    Dr. Courtney Fontenot is a graduate of Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine Class of 2018 and is an alumna of McNeese State University where she earned her Bachelor's in Agricultural Science. Dr. Fontenot is an associate veterinarian committed to practicing the best small animal medicine for her patients. Some of her many areas of focus include dentistry and pet nutrition. She believes client education is very important to provide pet owners with the tools they need to make the best choices for their pets' health. She is a graduate of South Beauregard High School where she was very active in her community including softball and 4-H/FFA. She now resides in Moss Bluff with her husband Nick, two daughters, and fur baby Zoey. When not at work, you could find her catching the latest movie at the theater, crafting, or spending quality time with her family.

    Duane Watkins
    Veterinarian

    Dr. Duane Watkins is a graduate of Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine class of 2019.  Dr. Watkins practices mixed animal veterinary medicine full time as an associate veterinarian at Bayou South.  He especially enjoys soft tissue surgery, dermatology, and food animal medicine.  Dr. Watkins is a native of Lake Arthur where he continues to reside with his wife, Morgan, and their dog, three cats, a tortoise, and a bearded dragon. Some of his hobbies include hunting and playing slow pitch co-ed softball.                                                    

  • Jana Kingrey
    Chiropractor

    I was born and raised in Southern California. I graduated from the University of Nevada-Reno with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science and received a Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from Parker University in 2014. I am certified by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association as an Animal Chiropractor. I moved to Louisiana when my husband and I opened our chiropractic clinic in Westlake. I joined the staff of Bayou South Animal Hospital in 2015 and have been tending to their patient's chiropractic needs since then. I enjoy spending quality time with my family, playing with my dogs, and riding my horses.
